Objects

Objects with origin.

An interest in interiors that never stopped at the architecture of a room. Furniture, objects and materials belong to the same story — chosen or made not only for how they look, but for the craft, culture and hands behind them.

Collection

Furniture

Solid suar wood, cut and carved by hand. Pieces made to sit inside an architecture rather than decorate it — stools that double as side tables, tables left untreated so the grain keeps working.

Collection

Mirrors

Driftwood gathered and framed, woven full-height mirrors — surfaces that reflect a room and also give it texture.

Bespoke

Made for the project, not the catalogue.

Not every space needs another product from a catalogue. When a project asks for something specific, furniture, lighting and architectural objects are developed as part of the interior itself — drawn alongside the plan and made with the suppliers, craftsmen and manufacturers the studio works with.

That work runs from a first sketch through material choice, prototyping and production coordination to installation on site: the same route the studio follows for a hotel, a restaurant or a private residence.

Beyond the interior

KOROOTS

“KOROOTS would like to tell stories through design that bridge the gap between the strange and the known, between traditions and innovations, between the individual, the personal and the universal.”

KOROOTS is Marije Richards' own collection: furniture and objects based on and inspired by natural and cultural heritage, gathered and developed through travelling, living and creating in different parts of the world.

Pieces developed there also enter interior projects, and the makers behind them became part of the practice. The collection is sold through KOROOTS; this page shows the part of it that belongs to the studio's interior work.
