The story
The invitation
A message arrived that opened a new chapter: Design Secrets invited Marije to take part and to open up the creative world behind her work. Twelve weeks of Sunday broadcasts followed — accepted, in her own words, not to be on television, but because it was the right moment to show what design actually means to her.
The process
What the cameras record is the part that finished photography never shows: site visits, material decisions, makers at the bench, meetings with suppliers, and concepts changing shape while they are being built.
The projects
The published segments follow a private skybox in the Johan Cruijff ArenA, a penthouse on the Costa del Sol, a Dutch villa reworked from cold monochrome into warmth, and the Amsterdam studio where the drawings begin.
The broadcast
Design Secrets — SBS6, the Netherlands. Marije Richards is listed among the designers of Season III on the programme's official site; earlier seasons remain available on KIJK.nl.
